To create and upload Request for Payment (RfP) digital invoices using SecureQBPlugin and integrate them into QuickBooks Online (QBO) for real-time payments, follow these steps:

1. Create RfP Digital Invoices using SecureQBPlugin

SecureQBPlugin provides functionality for generating and processing digital invoices, including Request for Payment (RfP) files for Real-Time Payments (RTP). Here’s how to do it:

• Set up the Plugin: Install and configure SecureQBPlugin on your QuickBooks system. Ensure it’s connected to both QuickBooks and your banking portal that supports real-time payments (e.g., FedNow or The Clearing House).
• Create an Invoice:
  1. Open QuickBooks: Log into your QuickBooks Online (QBO) or QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Generate an Invoice: Create a new invoice for the payment you want to request, ensuring all necessary details are entered (e.g., item description, amount, due date).
  3. Add RTP Details: When generating the invoice, SecureQBPlugin allows you to add real-time payment (RTP) links. This link is generated based on the request file you will upload to your bank. It can be sent via email or SMS directly to the customer for easy payment processing

2. Prepare the Request for Payment (RfP) File

The file format for RfP depends on your bank and may be in CSV, XML, or ISO 20022 (PAIN .013) format. SecureQBPlugin can generate this file for you.

• Common Fields: The following fields should be included in the RfP file:
  • RequestID: A unique identifier for the payment request.
  • Creditor Details: Name and account details of the payee.
  • Debtor Details: Name and account details of the payer (your customer).
  • Amount: The amount to be paid.
  • Currency: Payment currency (e.g., USD, EUR).
  • Due Date: Date by which the payment is expected.
  • Reference: A reference to the invoice or payment request.

3. Upload RfP File to Your Business Bank

• Log into Your Bank’s Portal: Navigate to the section of the portal that allows for file uploads, such as "Upload Payments" or "Request for Payments".
• Upload the RfP File: Upload the generated CSV or XML file using the bank’s interface. Ensure the file format is validated and correct for real-time payment processing.
• Submit the Payment Request: Once uploaded, the bank processes the payment request in real time. You can monitor the status via the bank's dashboard

4. Reconciliation in QuickBooks (QBO)

• Automatic Updates: Once the payment is processed, SecureQBPlugin will automatically update your QuickBooks records in real time. The invoice status will be changed to reflect the completed payment.
